Our Car Dismantling Steps
As surprising as it may sound, but car dismantling is easier than assembling. While it is time-consuming and labor-intensive, the steps are relatively easy.
Here is a quick run-down of the steps involved:
Preparation
- Remove the hood and disconnect the car battery.
- Disconnect the engine hoses, wires, transmission and exhaust system.
- Safely drain out the coolant and other gases, oil and transmission fluids.
Remove the Engine
- Remove the front grill and attach the engine hoist.
- Unbolt the mounts and take out the engine.
Strip the Engine Compartment
- Next you need to remove the radiator, fan, battery, and carburetor.
- Also, disconnect the alternator belt and alternator.
Strip the Undercarriage
- Remove the transmission, exhaust, and tires.
- Unscrew brake pads and rotors.
- Clear out drums, shoes and brake lines.
Dismantle the Body of the Car
- Carefully remove the fenders, bumpers, trunk hood, windows, doors and lights.
- Cut rear panels and roof supports to remove the roof.
Remove the Vehicle’s Interior
- Take out the dashboard, seats and carpeting. Just leave the chassis.
- Take a blowtorch to cut the frame into smaller pieces with a blowtorch
